 Meet Ayieta, affectionately known as "Ay" or The Furry Godmama, the Chief Grooming Wizard and visionary behind Fluff U. A devoted advocate for the smallest of familiars, Ay has dedicated her life to ensuring that every creature—no matter how tiny—enjoys a life filled with magic, love, and expert care. From a young age, Ayieta was enchanted by the soul-deep bond shared with companion pets. While her journey began with years of leadership in the animal care industry, her true destiny revealed itself through a chance encounter with a Lionhead rabbit named Ghost Pepper. In that moment, Ay realized she possessed a rare "enchantment": the ability to soothe the most timid spirits and calm the most challenging temperaments. This gift led Ay to pursue the highest levels of rabbit mastery. Today, she stands as one of only five certified rabbit groomers in the US, and she holds the unique distinction of being the only person of color to achieve this elite certification. Having trained under the nation’s foremost authority on small animal grooming, she brings a level of expertise to the DMV that is truly one-of-a-kind. Whether she is performing a delicate trim or a full transformative spell, The Furry Godmama combines technical precision with a deep, intuitive touch. To Ay, grooming isn’t just a service—it’s a sacred pact to protect and pamper the small mammals who bring so much joy to our world. 

 Ayleen, the senior grooming wizard at Fluff U, hails from Mexico, where her love for animals first blossomed as she cared for a large pack of dogs. After moving to the US, Ayleen began her journey in the world of animal care at a local vet clinic, where she found a kindred spirit in Ayieta, the founder of Fluff U. Ayleen's gentle demeanor and natural affinity for pets make her an indispensable part of the grooming team. Her calming presence and knack for soothing even the most nervous animals ensure that every pet receives top-notch care and attention during their grooming sessions. Working seamlessly with Ay, she assists in every aspect of the grooming process, ensuring that every animal feels comfortable and safe throughout. Ayleen's dedication to providing small animals with the best possible experience embodies the spirit of Fluff U's mission: "Small animals deserve big lives." Her nurturing approach and genuine love for animals create a welcoming and caring environment for all the precious pets that come through our doors. 

 Towering above the rest (literally—she’s 6’5”!), Cam is a proud product of NW DC and a Benjamin Banneker Academic HS alumna, Cam’s roots in the city run deep, but her expertise in the biological arts is what truly makes her a wizard in the grooming room. With a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Bowie State University and nearly a decade of experience, Cam treats animal care like a precise science. When she isn’t at the grooming table, she’s busy assisting in microbiological and cancer research or mentoring the next generation of scientists. Her "superpower" is math, which she uses to ensure every clip and treatment is calculated to perfection—a gift passed down from a family of scholars and educators. Cam’s heart belongs to her community. She is driven by the magic of education and the importance of representation in the pet care world. She shares her home with a spoiled trio of familiars: P’Nut the cat, Poe the chunky leopard gecko, and Meg the dog. As a former college basketball star with a "reach" that helps her handle any situation, it's no coincidence that her spirit animal is the giraffe—tall, graceful, and just the right amount of awkward. Cam brings a brilliant mind and a steady hand to the Fluff U team, ensuring every pet leaves not just looking magical but feeling healthy from a scientific point of view! 

 Meet Adriel, the newest Apprentice Grooming Wizard to join the Fluff U coven! A native of Washington D.C. and a graduate of the PGCC Veterinary Assistant program, Adriel brings a grounded, soulful energy to our magical emporium. Adriel’s journey with animals is guided by a deep, spiritual connection to the natural world. As a person of Native descent, he draws inspiration from his spiritual guides—most notably a life-changing encounter with a rare piebald deer, his spirit animal. This connection gives him a "Spider-Man" like intuition when it comes to understanding the quiet needs of our furry guests. Whether he’s working with dogs or cats, Adriel believes that every animal deserves to be seen for their unique inner light. When he isn’t busy casting rejuvenation charms at the grooming station, Adriel is a true visual artist, often found capturing the beauty of the world through his own creative lens. At home in Silver Spring, he manages a lively "mini-haven" of his own, shared with his two dogs, Fenn and Ivy, and his two feline familiars, Sage and Iris. Driven by the belief that he is the architect of his own dreams, Adriel is dedicated to making every pet's visit a masterpiece of care and comfort. He looks forward to meeting your companions and helping them feel like the magical creatures they truly are!
